Elevating Success: Emma Baylis, Founder and Director at New Zealand based partner Elevation Network caught up with Nick Maxwell to share how they are using Connectorly to help deliver exceptional client value and drive growth.

Overview

New Zealand based Elevation Network is a chartered accountancy practice offering a range of services, including HR support.

Established 18 months ago, it is growing quickly by prioritizing efficiency, innovative tools and services and fostering strong, collaborative client relationships.

Challenge

Being able to efficiently deliver value to clients, is a crucial part of the Elevation Networks service and a key way to achieve this is through easy to understand, financial reports.

Emma explains:

“We recognized that delivering easy to understand, financial reports to our clients would be a game changer and help us make a real difference in the way clients understood their business. It would also set us apart from the competition.

Traditional reporting methods are cumbersome and time-intensive, often resulting in clients struggling to interpret complex financial data.

We’d used Microsoft Power BI in the past and knew that it was an amazing product to deliver reports to clients in their own environment that they can easily use.

But we needed a reliable way to bring Xero financial data in, at scale.”

Solution

Elevation Network needed a connector that could integrate Xero data into Power BI for streamlined, real-time reporting.

After investigating several options, they found Connectorly for Xero and Microsoft Power BI through the Xero App store. Encouraged by the positive customer feedback, they used the free trial to make sure that it met their needs.

“It became quickly obvious that this was the best of the bunch – it’s so easy to use and the background refresh is brilliant. We decided to take the plunge and haven’t regretted it.”

Implementation

The first joint client was quickly implemented in May 2024, and Connectorly were on hand to ensure any bumps were ironed out.

“From day one Connectorly have been really, really helpful with any issues that we’ve come across, so it does feel like a true partnership with them.”

Following this initial success, the team at Elevation Network were ready to try something more challenging; a more complex model that consolidated financial data across 18 different Xero ledgers.

Connectorly’s grouping feature means this was easily achieved and Elevation Network successfully delivered a set of bespoke operational and board-level reports that are easily accessible, clear and always up-to-date.

Encouraged by these positive outcomes, Elevation Network are now expanding its offering to more clients, continuing to leverage Connectorly as a core part of their reporting service.
